Who We Are

TEAKA handmade is an ethical design brand. We aim to revive the Jeparanese artisanship under the conscious concept of fair trade linked with contemporary design trends from all over the world.
Our products are hand-made by Jeparanese artisans.
We are associated with women communities native from the Jeparanese region, highly qualified, to create bags and accessories made with wood, leather or endemic natural fibers.

SEEMINGLY ELEGANT AND LUXURIOUS DESIGN OF OUR BAGS

Our Mission

Offer to the customer about high-quality products, bags and other accessories proven by their design and materials while preserving the ancestral legacy of the techniques used to create them. This will allow us to empower women’s skills transmitted generation after generation.
In TEAKA handmade we want to share with you the origin of our products, the hands of the ones who created them. We tell you their history and the place where it comes from.
Every detail has been carefully thought out by our team to convey a brand experience that inspires creativity, transparency and commitment to Jeparanese artisans.

Our Vision

We aim to help women to improve their and their future generations’ quality of life by providing them a livelihood while preserving their ancestral traditions.
Craft traditions that are in danger of extinction product of the massive migration of younger generations who seek better opportunities in the cities.
We want TEAKA Handmade to be a company recognized worldwide for the social contribution to these communities, for encouraging a conscious outlet for responsible consumers, and for showing a new design perspective to local handicrafts in Jepara.

At the heart of everything — a team, craftsmanship, and inspiration.

THE SOUL OF THE BRAND

Kartika is the creative soul of the brand. She infuses emotion, meaning, and aesthetics into every line and every texture.

Widodo is the visionary who transforms ideas into systems and crafts into a sustainable business..

Our team is not just a production line — it’s a community of artisans who believe in the value of meaningful things.

TEAKA is not about mass production. It’s about depth. About trust. About pieces that hold their meaning through the years.

We believe in ethical craftsmanship, mindful consumption, and the long life of every piece.

RESPONSIBILITY

Our items are made to last for years — crafted to serve, not to be replaced.

We offer a warranty, post-warranty care, and are always ready to breathe new life into your beloved Blackwood piece.

Blackwood also supports social initiatives — including aid to the Ukrainian people affected by war, and other causes where standing together truly matters.

THE CRAFTMANSHIP SPIRIT

THE CRAFTMANSHIP SPIRIT
For those who choose what’s real.

Who sees value in the details.

Who seeks not just things — but reflections of themselves.

TEAKA is not about the mainstream. It’s about depth. About trust. About pieces that carry meaning — and keep them through the years.
